APS 8: Environment to Promote Learning

These are the computers available to students and were used for students who learned at a faster
or slower pace. They would work on lessons on Compass Learning or Odysseyware.

Left: This is where my cooperating teacher keeps her daily lesson plans. Right: This poster
displays the behavioral expectations of the school.

This is the set up of the Smart board and dry erase boards in the front of the classroom. The Star
Board was used majority everyday for instruction. There was a wireless tablet that allows use of
the board from anywhere in the room.

Left: These are the supplies available for the students. The supplies included markers, colored
pencils, glue sticks, dry erase markers, rulers, and scissors. Right: These crates carry dry eraser
boards, markers, and erasers for the students to use during guided practice, independent practice,
and classroom games.

This is a poster of a problem-solving technique. SLAM: Sentences should be complete thoughts,


line lengths answer length, answer what the question asks, math symbols, vocabulary, and
spelling are included, support answers with mathematical reasoning and details.

This is the grading scale of the school.

This is a helpful bulletin board in the back of the classroom with SAT mathematic words.

This is one of three agenda dry erase boards in the class. These are changed daily. It allows to
students to know what to expect once class begins. Below: The other two agenda boards are
displayed below along with the Problem Solving MAT example and a math strategy poster.
