TEAC Claims.
The Teacher Education Accreditation Claims (TEAC) set by Medaille College, ensures
that graduates are competent and prepared to be elementary educators. Medaille College claims
that graduates are competent in subject matter, can meet the needs of diverse learners in the
classroom through pedagogy and best teaching practices, and are caring educators.
The following artifacts connect to the TEAC Claims:
International Society for Technology Education for Teachers and Students (ISTE).
The ISTE Standards define the knowledge and skills teachers and students should have
interlaced with technology. The standards set expectations for both students and teachers that
advocate digital citizenship, innovation, and innovative ways of integrating technology in the

Curriculum and standards are important because they serve as guidelines for teachers.
They ensure that there is consistency in subject matter being taught in classrooms across the state
as well as professionalism. This section identifies how my artifacts align to and adhere with the
curriculum and standards. In the next section I will reflect on my experiences writing this
portfolio and during my time at Medaille College in the Division of Education. This will display
my ability to reflect and my readiness in becoming a teacher.
