Please add specific comments about the student teachers observed strengths during this teaching
practicum and identify areas in which you feel further development is necessary.
Observed Strengths: /
Very good introduction connecting past lesson to todays
lesson.
Especially in the morning, the scavenger hunt is a good
way to get the students moving around the room.
Very good activity of Predator-Prey.
Very comfortable in front of the class.
Areas in which further development is needed:
*Use descriptive terms of higher order thinking to write your
Objective. For examples, Students will use evidence to support
Their argument why predation is important for the survival of an
ecosystem.
*Use higher order thinking questions to gauge students.
*Increase the rigor of the class by providing more challenging work.
Review lesson plan; 5Es
The explore portion of your lesson plan must provide students
with an opportunity to explore in their own through group work
while the teacher acts as a facilitator.
*We must transitioned from a teacher centered classroom where
all eyes are on the teachers to a student centered classroom
students are taking charge of their own learning.
Review Science and Engineering Practices. In a science classroom
there are specific ways in which students can demonstrated their
science skills. They can questions, measure, collecting data,
analyzing data, making observations, hypothesizing etc
General Comments: Very good visuals were used throughout the lesson. A grade 6 lesson requires more depth since they
are at the age where they really need to start engaging themselves into the science process skills. We must promote group
work through activities which facilitates it.
