Description
Students can complete the pre-medicine requirements for the medicine program at the
University of Saskatchewan at the University of Regina. Students must complete a 4-year
baccalaureate preparatory degree to be eligible to apply to the College of Medicine.
Specific courses are required. As well, students will be required to write the MCAT for
admission in the near future. The most up-to-date requirements and notice of upcoming
changes will be posted on the College of Medicine website at www.usask.ca/medicine.
Students looking to apply to medical schools other than the U of S are able to complete
their pre-med requirements here, but shouldcheck the various medical schools for their

particular admission requirements. These students are welcome to consult with our
advisors to ensure they get everything they need. Pre-medicine courses completedat the
University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.

About
The University of Regina is a public research university located in Regina, Saskatchewan,
Canada. Founded in 1911 as a private denominational high school of the Methodist Church
of Canada, it began an association with the University of Saskatchewan as a junior college
in 1925, and was disaffiliated by the Church and fully ceded to the University in 1934; in
1961 it attained degree-granting status as the Regina Campus of the University of
Saskatchewan. It became an autonomous university in 1974. The University of Regina has
an enrollment of over 12,000 full and part-time students. The university's student
newspaper, The Carillon, is a member of CUP.

Residence Information
The University of Regina has four fully-furnished residences offering single
accommodations for about 1,000 students. Male and female apartments are available.
Both North and South residences offer one- to four-bedroom apartments, as well as dorms
with private or shared washrooms. College West offers three- to six-bedroom apartments
and La Rsidence has all private dorms with private washrooms. All accommodations are
equipped with high-speed Internet and phones. TV lounges, laundry facilities, computer
labs and microwaves are available in all buildings. Meal plans are mandatory for all dormstyle rooms. Rooms are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis with the exception of La
Rsidence where students speaking or taking classes in French are given priority based on
availability and their application date.
