Evidence to support attainment of this standard:
Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
It is very important to plan and prepare for instruction, especially when deciding what available resources including
technology materials to use for the lesson. I have a Promethean board that I use in my classroom, and my students have
access to chrome books and a computer lab. These technology resources are used throughout my planning and preparing
to help enhance our math, reading, grammar, writing, science, and social studies lessons.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better)
I am very lucky to have a Promethean board in my classroom this year. It is my first year with it in my classroom, and it
has changed my teaching instruction for the better. My students are more engaged and motivated throughout my lessons.
The interactive lessons and activities provide the students with opportunities to contribute their knowledge or skill
directly to the lesson on the board.
For example, I use my Promethean board interactive lessons through our curriculum adopted GoMath! for whole group
instruction. This includes students following along in their own math book to my activities on the board. It really helps
with my visual learners to follow along, and also provides fun sounds and aminations that are engaging. If time remains,
students are allowed to use the chrome books to practice their math facts. Students use the website sumdog.com to help
drill their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.
