Today we made out IT Blogs, added a picture

to it and sent it to our own devices so that
we will always have a backup just in case.

Today, we learned about megapixels and

pixels. 1 megapixel is equal to one million
pixels.
You can zoom in more on a photo that has a
higher amount of megapixels.

Today, we found out what a computer cooler

and fan is and how it works and what it
does, we also saw what a walkie talkie looks
taken apart.
We also saw a quad chopper with amazing
balance that could hold a glass of water,
and it wouldnt spill.

RCDs are compulsory because it is designed to prevent

the chances of electrical shock.
Two RCDs are needed because if one switch trips, the
power would be completely cut off. Having 2 stops that
from happening.

RCD

A residual current device (RCD) is a safety device that switches off electricity
automatically if there is a fault. RCDs are far more sensitive than normal fuses and circuitbreakers and provide additional protection against electric shock.

IT classroom, M1.
Hazards: extra computer parts and cords lying around the room
Risks: someone could easily trip over the charger cable for a
laptop, pulling it off the table and breaking it
Changes/improvements: use cable ties to neaten up the mess
and reduce trip hazards, find places for spare computer parts

Today, I finally completed the html & CSS course that I started
mid-year last year.

What I Have Done In IT So Far

This term, I have made a logo on photoshop, I have made
changes to the website that I made last year to make it suit my
needs for this years work. I have also made my bilby sight,
which I will paste a link to on my assignments page on my main
website. I have completed my html course and I am going on to
learn either Basic or ASPX. I have been helping out people with
the things that they are doing which does take up a bit of my
time, but I do manage to still complete the things I want to.

Stuff
How can I stop my PC from over-heating?

1. Dust out the computer case

2. Check the fan works properly
3. Check the ventilation has the sufficient amount of space
Apart from internal cooling systems, what other things can I do to cool it?
1. You can open the case and dust it out, ensuring that the fan has a
way to ventilate properly
2. You can move the computer away from a wall to make sure it isnt
blocking the fan vents
What are the pros and cons of over-clocking a chip?
Pros
1. Cheaper
2. Speeds up PC
3. High-end processor for a lesser cost
Cons
1. Can cause over-heating in the system
2. Can cause the processor to melt

1x flatpack case: http://www.arcadeworx.com.au/index.php?
route=product/product&path=39_44&product_id=65 - $750 (possibly in either gloss
white or black)
Circuit board salvaged from and old broken laptop (not sure if working or not yet,
diagnosis needed)

The flatpack frame will have a decal on the header and on the body, which can be personalised. The
final decision for the decals hasnt been made yet but its highly likely that the frame will be in gloss
white rather than gloss black. Preferably we (my stepdad and me) would like to have illuminated
joysticks and buttons for the arcade machine to make it look cool, and hopefully we will be able to
illuminate the decals on the top and body of the frame.

Semester Review
1. Arduino and Prac projects
DJ and I were planning on making an LED 4x4x4 light cube which I was going to
program using an Arduino chip, but we were not able to get in the kit that we had
selected in time for the end of the term which was a little disappointing, but Im
sure, well get it I for next year and have a go at it
We also made a battery powered car out of a botte (that broke after we tested it). It
was made with a square shaped bottle the

Arcade Machine semi-final decisions
The arcade frame will be gloss black, rather than gloss white, which will suit our house a lot better.
The cut out/decal at the top of the frame will be a standard MAME logo, and the cut out/decal on the
body will be a standard full triforce (from the legend of Zelda series, picture attached below). The cut
outs will be illuminated, possibly in yellow and the joysticks and buttons will hopefully follow the same
theme with the yellow illumination.
