Bronfenbrenner Theory

Urie Bronfenbrenner developed the ecological systems theory to explain how a child's development is influenced by different environmental systems, including the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem. The document then provides an example of a girl named Imani and discusses how each of Bronfenbrenner's systems influence her development, such as her interactions with family, friends, and extracurricular activities (microsystem), her parents' involvement in school (mesosystem), her relationships with extended family (exosystem), her concerns about terrorism (macrosystem), and her use of technology over time (chronosystem).

Labeled different aspects or levels of the environment that

influence children's development, including:
Microsystem
Mesosystem
Exosystem
Macrosystem
Chronosystem
