Task 1

The document summarizes an observation of a 45-minute English language class for 23 students taught by Zainab Ali. It includes a table tracking the reasons three sample students spoke during class, including repeating words after the teacher, answering questions, and speaking to classmates in English and Arabic. Most common was repeating after the teacher as a whole class. The observer noted the teacher spoke for 20 minutes explaining lessons and activities, which was deemed an appropriate amount of talking. Some students were shy or bored and did not speak. Overall the level of Arabic used was also deemed appropriate to help students understand new words.

Why is talk important?

for teachers?
for learners? (Think about the What and How.)

I believe that its important for teacher to talk, because they have to explain the
lesson and activity for the students, the students will follow her instructions,
although if the teacher didnt talk, the students will feel bored and noisy. The
teacher should talk in the lesson and to maintain students discipline. The
students should to understand the lesson, and get rid of the fear, maybe some

students are shy or scared to talk, so they need to communicate with other, so
they can feel comfortable. The students will talk to the teacher and other
students to understand the lesson.
