I've been getting some BSOD's on a fresh build of a new system with Windows 8.1 Pro and all
updates installed. I also have the latest BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer, which is an
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z.

See if this willl help.


Press the Winkey + r and type services.msc into the run
box and press enter.
Scroll down to Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode
Driver Framework
Right click and select properties
Change the Startup type to Automatic
Now run devmgmt.msc and delete all USB Hubs and then
reboot.
When Windows restarts it should automatically scan for
hardware changes and install the drivers needed.
