K CLASS NEWSLETTER

November 16, 2015, Issue 9

What has been happening in our classrooms?

Thank you very much for coming to our Open Day to see your child's
learning. We also send a special thanks to Ishika, Shreys mom for
coming and celebrating Diwali with us. We did many activities as
watching a short video which helped children learn about the
traditions and customs surrounding this Indian festival, artwork
making a diya and a thali. We also made traditional Indian sweet
laddoo. Our little inquirers already tasted it before even rolling it
into a ball. What a yummy treat! Indian festival cannot be complete
without singing and dancing, K class had a ball moving and swaying to
Indian music.
This week we will continue talking about the weather and weather
changes especially sunny, rainy, stormy, cloudy, snowy and windy.
We are doing many activities such as making clouds using cotton,
painting raindrops, looking out the window and describing the
weather and placing the correct weather picture on the weather
chart. KY experimented making rains by filling water in a perforated
cup using a sensory tub. It was fun!!!
Our second Mother Tongue Story Telling session is coming up this
Friday 20th. We look forward to welcoming the parent volunteers in
our classrooms. For those of you who are interested, but have not
signed up, you are also welcome to see what it is like or let us know
so we can add your name in the session.
Gentle reminders:
- Please put a raincoat or a folded umbrella inside your
childs bag, just in case it rains. Thank you !
P. E. uniform is mandatory for P.E. lessons.
