To improve metal casting quality, automatic machines should pour molten metal slowly to prevent pouring defects, sprues should be thicker than mold sections to reduce shrinkage, green sand must be stored in closed containers to prevent blow holes from moisture or dust, pouring temperature and rate should be optimized to avoid cold metal or incomplete filling, and bentonite content in sand should be increased to limit sand inclusions.

RECOMMENDATION
There are some improvement that can be made to produce a good
quality of metal casting product and those are:
a) Reduce pouring defect
Automatic machine can be used to pour the molten metal into the mold at desired rate of speed to ensure the molten metal will freeze gradually and produce a better quality product
b) Reduce shrinkage defect
A sprue included should be thicker than the section of the mold it is connected so that it can supply the extra metal for the casting
c) Reduce blow hole defect
The green sand used should be stored in closed container so that it can keep the moisture of the sand and the sand is not exposed to inert dust which will prevent any trapped gases during the process of metal casting d) Reduce metallurgical defect Pouring should be done at a minimum temperature consistent with avoiding cold metal defects and maintain high fill rate
e) Reduce sand inclusion defect
Increase the bentonite content of the sand by using a bentonite with a higher specific binding capacity
