Abstract. In Malaysia, the aerospace community can be divided into four main groups; manufacturer,
regulator and operator, support, and training. In total, the aerospace industry currently employs
approximately 65,000 work forces of which the commercial aviation is the largest employer with 27,300
people (42%), followed by MRO sub-sector at 10,500 (16%), aerospace manufacturing sub-sector at
6,400 (10%) and others (32%). Presently, there are only 44 aerospace focus training centers operating in
Malaysia. The training does covers the technician and mechanics, graduate engineers, cabin crews, air
traffic controllers, pilots and others. The Malaysian Aerospace Industry Turnover growth has been
gradually increased from RM21.5b in 2006 to RM32.7b in 2013. This has resulted in the high demand of
competent work forces. The current ecosystem of education and training methodology in Malaysia has to
evolve in order to cater for the aerospace industry needs. The paper presents a new holistic and
sustainable approach for the human capital development in the Malaysian Aerospace Manufacturing SubSector Industry
