Harry knows the time of his death but not the date, so every day is a battle against time. The opening will show Harry's death and the events leading up to it. It will start non-linearly with his death, then flashback to show clips of his daily routine and precautions as the time ticks down. The climax comes as Harry panics while surrounded by clocks, and it ends with his death scene.

PRIME

By Aaliyah Yaqub

Plot
The main plot of my movie opening is that the main
protagonist Harry/Jacob/ knows the time of his death
(4:59)but not know the date or when he will die.
Everyday is a battle against time for him, because any day
could be the day.
So everyday he takes extreme pro cautions to delay his
death for as long as he can.
Overall my opening will just be his death and events
leading up to his death.

Beginning, Equilibrium & Exposition

Im thinking of starting this opening non-linear, starting with the moment he
died, flash-forwarded.
Shots
I am hoping to start with a scene of his death, with an establishing shot of the
setting e.g family photos. Shots of different areas of the room
Editing
I hope to insert jump cuts of just darkness in between each shot.
Music
Quiet music, start the scene off.
Sound of a voicemail of someone trying to reach the person.
Mis-en-scene
I would like the lighting to
be not as well lit, dull
artificial lighting to reflect the situation.
Setting of a living room.

Middle, Disequilibrium & Conflict

Then there will be a flashback to the time before his death. Clips
of different settings for his everyday routine leading to his death.
Shots
One idea is to begin with a low angle shot of the protagonist that
rotates slowly at 360, his everyday life and taking precautions.
Editing
Minimal editing, because it is a unrealistic concept try to make
the rest of the clip as realistic as possible. Except a few jump
cuts of shots of clock to represent time running out.
Sound
Action music, faintly in back ground at first, as time begins to run
out = more suspenseful music build. Narrative of actor.
Mis-en-scene
Well-lit, good lighting
starting with a shot with the sky.

End. Resolution. Climax

The end of the opening will be his battle with clocks and the
clock ticking over and over again, and again his death scene.
Shots
Mainly shots of clocks ticking intertwined with shots of him panicking.
Editing
The editing will consist of jump cuts mostly to show time speeding up.
Also black cuts in between.
Sound
By this point the sound will be building up to the end, getting more and
more suspenseful. Also sound of voicemail again and clocks.
Narration throughout.
Mis-en-scene
Mixture of different lightening, show how chaotic everything is.
Darkness and light. Different settings of his day ect.
