Lesson 4

The lesson taught 6th grade students about elapsed time. The teacher explained what elapsed time is, provided examples of how to calculate it, and had students work on a worksheet to practice finding elapsed times. Through examples and questions at the start, the teacher ensured students understood what would be covered. While some students struggled with converting to 24-hour time, overall the worksheet at the end showed that many had grasped how to perform the conversions and calculations to find elapsed times.

Lesson 4

Elapsed Time
Activities in class:

Explain what is elapsed time

Give some example on how to find the elapsed time
Worksheet on their notebook to find the elapsed time

Reflection:

Today I teach the students in grade 6 how we can find the elapsed time. Before I
start the lesson, I ask them some questions that help them to understand what
elapsed time mean. After I take sure that students understand the main topic what
will be about, I gave them an example to deep their understanding in finding the
elapsed time. There were some points that confused the students to find the
elapsed time. And these points are converting the time into 24 hour. Overall, at
the end of the lesson I gave a students a worksheet (I displayed the worksheet on
the board and ask the students to rewrite the questions on their notebook) and I
saw that many students are understanding how to convert the time into 24 hour
and how to find the elapsed time.
