CBEE 414 Lecture 4 - Plots and Footnotes To Post

The results of the spray death experiment suggest that the amount of cell death is related to the absolute flow rates rather than the gas to liquid ratio. The water removal system was able to remove 83% of water from salt solutions. Higher salt concentrations reduced the amount of water that could be removed due to the solute lowering the vapor pressure of water. Bearding, where dried solute accumulated near the nozzle, reduced process continuity and was less severe for a 2 molal salt solution, which also had higher drying efficiency and was able to lyse red blood cells.

Lab Day/Time __________

spray death results suggest that unlike the spray characteristics, the amount of cell death
is related to the absolute flow rates and not the gas to liquid ratio.
The water removal efficiency in the
system had a potential to remove 83%
of the water from the salt. Higher concentration of salt reduced the amount of water
removed from salt and due to the solute reducing the vapor pressure of water.
Nice graph will go here
Bearding, where dried solute accumulated near and at the nozzle potentially plugging the
nozzle, reduced the continuity of the process and is shown in Figure 5. The two molal salt
solution was chosen because bearding occurred less severely, the system had a higher
drying efficiency, and high concentration of salt was found to lyse RBC.
Instructions for plot caption/formatting/footnotes activity:

Introduce plot in text.

Paste plot from Mondays work (consider pasting as picture)
Add plot caption that is detailed, indented, and uses smaller font.
Use caption to describe error analysis or explain its absence.
Use References/Insert Footnote to insert a footnote. Use smaller font.
Use Reference/Cross-reference to reference an existing footnote. You need to
select Footnote, then Footnote number (formatted) to create the list.
