tourists and residents. Some of these
places include the Berlin Wall,

The wall divided Berlin from 1961 to
1989 and it was constructed by the
German Democratic Republic. The
whole divider included concrete walls,
Guard towers, anti-driving areas, and
nail beds. The main cause for the wall
was to keep thousands of East Germans
from going to the west to be
democratic. The wall totally encircled
West Berlin. This wall is definitely the
place to visit if you are a fan of ancient
ruins and history.
Konigstein Fortress
If you a big history nut, this is the place
for you! This building is a famous
fortified structure. There is no really
date to when the site was built but
rumor say that a castle in the same area
goes back to 1233. It was mainly used
as a stronghold, or a 16th century
monastery. In 1589 Elector Christian
turned it into a fortress for the
Confederation of the Rhine. It was also
used as a retreat for soldiers. During
both World Wars, it was used as a
prisoner of war camp.
