Semi-Final:
Some people say that going to college is the most crucial stage of a
students life. In this stage, students are ought to choose and decide which
course are they going to pursue that should fit on their skills. The chosen
course serves as a key that will determine what would be the possible career
or destination of the students future life. Thus, making it very critical stage.
In order for us to pass this stage, developing our abilities such as verbal,
numerical, abstract, logical, and spatial would be a great help. Those abilities
plays vital role in the students successful college life.
Verbal Ability. Having strong verbal skills will help a student to
encourage essential discussion inside the classroom. It plays a key role in
bringing people together. This ability is very useful most especially when a
student is given a task by a teacher to discuss a certain topic in front of the
class. Being able to organize our thoughts through active listening and
recognize when to apply these various skills will increase our confidence as a
student. Thus, we are more likely to experience success.
Numerical Ability. Numerical reasoning ability is one of the most
basic skills areas, one that exists in small children well before they are taught
mathematics in school. And by developing that skill of our to its fullest, it
would be easier for us think critically in solving math problems or any
situational problems, solve basic or general arithmetic operations, and
analyze graphs and other data.
Abstract Ability. This is the ability to analyze information and solve
problems on a complex, thought-based level. This is very important because
it enables students to apply what they learn in complex ways.
Logical Ability. Logical thinking skill is as important as the humans
most needs in life to survive such as food, water, and shelter. It is logical
thinking that enables a student to understand things that he/she read about
or are shown. Having this skill helps a student to dig deeper into their
thinking processes and understand better the methods used to arrived at a
solution on a certain problem.
Spatial Ability. New research has highlighted the importance of
considering spatial skills when predicting future innovation and creativity.
