Plot
The plot of a story can be separated into five distinct sections; the exposition, the rising
action, the climax, the falling action, and the resolution.
Exposition: Tia hears some interesting music while she is working as a servant for a white old
women.
Rising Action: The women teaches Tia the piano which she had heard.
Climax: Tia and the old women help each other and becomes friends.

Falling Action: The women dies.


Resolution: Tia continues to play the piano like the women taught her.
Setting
The setting of this book is on a plantation during times of servitude.
Theme
The theme of the book is to always help other because then they will help you and make a
lasting impression.
Characters
The main character in this book is Tia a little girl who loved music but is working as a
servant for an old white lady.
Style
The style of this book is okay with a little variation in sentence structure.
Point of View
This book was written in an all knowing narrator point of view.
Reflections
This book was okay; I would only suggest this book for reader that like to read and would
not get discouraged by this text.
