    In the story
    The Last Lesson a teacher gives a French lesson.
    The Countess and the Impossible a boy learns greatness through taking care of a
    lawn. The Countess pays the boy every week according to his estimation of his work.
    Mama and the Doctors Wife a woman finds a way to get surgery for her husband.
    Being a Public Character a dog bites a lion and becomes famous in his town. This
    dog later becomes famous again for rescuing the Wilkins baby from a burning house.
    Doc Brackett a doctor misses his wedding to help a child.
    The Case of the Missing Will written by Agatha Christie, a lady asks a famous for
    help finding a will.
    My Struggle for an Education is from the autobiography (a book written about the
    author him/herself) of Booker T. Washington and tells about how he got into school by
    doing thorough work.
    The Adventure of the Three Students involves an examination for a prized
    scholarship. Black clay is a clue that helps Sherlock Holmes solve the case.
    The Kiskis, before their father harvests his wheat, the children come to school
    without shoes. On the last day of school, the Kiski children bring Miss Smith a box of
    candy.
    Toby and the Gettysburg Address Toby recites the speech while squeezing a rope
    behind his back because he had learned the speech while milking a cow.
    The Four-ring Circus the Trenton redheads style of basketball is brilliant but
    cockeyed.
    An Unfortunate Lily Maid Matthew tells Anne not to give up all her romance.
    Nothing Ever Happens so David doesnt feel uncomfortable, the farmer wears blue
    jeans to church. Great-grandmother also goes out of her way to make Mrs. Hunter feel
    comfortable at church.
