EnsuretheinstallerdetectedthecorrectLinuxdistribution.
DifferentLinuxversionsusedifferentinstallproceduresif

DependingonyourLinuxdistributionsomestepsmayneedtobecompletedbeforegoingfurther
withtheHPLIPinstall.Pleasefollowanydirectionsgiven.

Step7:DetectAnyMissingDependencies
Theinstallerwillnowdetectwhatdependenciesyoursystemwillneedtoinstallbeforeinstalling
HPLIP.Inadditionanypackagemanagercleanupstepswillberan.Theseareexecutedtotry
andminimzeanypotentialpackagemanagerproblems.

Step8:DownloadandInstallAnyMissingDependencies
Ifyoursystemismissinganydependenciestheyarenowdownloadedandinstalled.

Step9:'./configure'and'make'willrun
./configurepreparesHPLIPforinstallaswellasyoursystemisverifiedtohavealltherequired
dependenciesforHPLIP.
'make'isthenexecuted.Makecompiles("builds")HPLIPforyoursystem.

Nextthesetuptoolwilldisplayprintersdetected(dependingontheconnectiontypeselected):

Step13:SelectthePPDfile(ordriver)tobeUsedforYourPrinter
ThePPDfiles(drivers)whicharemostsimilartoyourprinteraredisplayed.Selecttheappropriate
PPDfileforyourprinter.
