Questions and Solutions Prob and Stat, 19th Feb, 2010

This document contains instructions and questions for a probability and statistics test. It provides useful data for standard normal distributions. The test contains 7 questions ranging from 6 to 15 marks. Question 1 asks to show that if events A, B, and C are independent, then events A and B ∪ C are also independent. Question 2 provides a scenario involving coins with different probabilities of landing on heads and asks to calculate the probability that a chosen coin is fair. Question 7 asks to find the probability that a normal random variable X will be less than or equal to a given value based on its mean and standard deviation.
