PEOPLEWARE
Refers to the personnel involved within the computer installation or it could be anybody
who wants his job to be done with the use of computers.
CAREERS IN COMPUTING
A. COMPUTER OPERATIONS PERSONNEL
a.1. Computer Operator-responsible in operating the system unit or other related
hardware to ensure proper start-up , checking and ensuring correct operations, and other
related activity.
a.2. Data Entry Operator-records data from a given documents into an electronic media
from appropriate for input into a computer system.
a.3 Program and Media Librarian-The task is to preserve and protect information
repository of programs ,data and other related important information.
B. DATABASE ADMINISTATOR the one that maintains the data dictionary which is a
set of recorded data definitions and standards of a given company. In addition, he /she
also manage the design and structure of file and database in the organization.
C. EDUCATOR- the one that teaches computing concepts.
D. INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER the one that acts as a manager in a
department that usually meets the needs for planning, organizing, controlling and
analyzing the system in an organization. In addition, he /she is responsible in designing
and preparing the specification needed for program development.
E. KNOWLEDGE ENGINEER- the one that acts and works closely with human
specialists to transform human expertise into some form of facts and decision rules which
might be used and be translated and be placed in the knowledge base of an expert system.
F. PROGRAMMER- the one responsible in developing the programs and applications.
f.1. Applications Programmer- the one responsible in the systems specifications of
analysts and converts into an efficient, effective and well- written and documented
applications that execute specific tasks for end-users.
f.2. Systems Programmer- the one responsible for performing support functions in terms
of maintaining the system software environment where application programmers and
computer operates work.
G. SYSTEMS ANALYST- the one responsible for analyzing the needs of organizations in
relation to the systems and how computer data processing can be applied to these needs,
thus at the end designing effective custom- made data processing solutions.
H. TECHNICAL WRITER- the one responsible for creating software documentation and
manuals for different users.
