HOMEWORK AND CLASSWORK

Homework and classwork will be graded on a 3 point basis. Students will receive the full 3 points
based on timeliness and satisfactory completion. Students will receive at most 2 points if turned in
one day late or mediocre completion of assignment. Students will receive at most 1 point if work
is received 2 days after assigned date or unsatisfactory completion. No points will be given for
work if assignments are incomplete after 3 days.

CLASS PARTICIPATION
No gum, no saggy pants, and always wear your uniform shirt. Listen and communicate
appropriately in group collaborations. You are silent when Mr. Coyle is speaking. Come to class
prepared and on time. Follow directions the first time. Listen to the presenter be it a peer, the
teacher or a guest. Respect yourself and others. Keep the room safe by keeping hands, feet and
objects to yourself. Follow City Poly High Schools Policies as defined in the Student Handbook.

ABSENCES
Students with excused absences have 3 days for each excused day to complete and turn in
missed work. Students will have partners responsible for taking notes and collecting handouts
while they are gone. There is NOT a point deduction for work turned in within the allowed 3 days
from the excused absence. Students with unexcused absences are still held responsible for
assignment deadlines. If you are absent on the day an assignment is due, you will still be
accountable for the homework. Content learned for the day can be found on the class page.
Homework can be emailed directly to Mr. Coyle. Classwork assigned the day you are absent will
be due the next day you return to class.

Should you be late, you must present a valid pass from the teacher who held you. After 3
unexcused tardies, a parent will be contacted.

during the first or last 10 minutes of class. Before leaving and after returning, students MUST sign
