DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point) : Qos Type of Service Byte

The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is used to access and manage distributed directory services over IP networks, such as corporate email directories or telephone directories that contain subscriber records with addresses and phone numbers. DSCP modifies the type of service byte in QoS by reallocating six bits for use as the DSCP field, where each DSCP specifies a particular per-hop behavior applied to packets, though support remains limited in some network equipment. SNAP is the layer between network and MAC layers and stands for SubNetwork Attachment Point, being part of the LLC 802.2 standard and mainly used in Apple networks running the AppleTalk protocol.

The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is an application protocol for accessing and

maintaining distributed directory information services over an Internet Protocol (IP) network.
Directory services may provide any organized set of records, often with a hierarchical structure, such as a
corporate electronic mail directory. Similarly, a telephone directory is a list of subscribers with an address
and a phone number.

DSCP (differentiated services code point)

In QoS, a modification of the type of service byte. Six bits of this byte are being
reallocated for use as the DSCP field, where each DSCP specifies a particular per-hop
behavior that is applied to a packet. Support for DSCP still is lacking in some network
equipment, however (see RFC 2474). DSCP is not compatible with IP Precedence.

IEEE 802.2: SNAP

General
SNAP is the layer between the Network layer and the MAC layer. SNAP stands for
SubNetwork Attachment Point and is part of the LLC 802.2 standard.
The main usage for SNAP/LLC is in Apple Macintosh networks using the AppleTalk
protocol.
