1A. With the required models and derivations, explain the frequency response of a single
stage amplifier.
1B. Minimise the following function using k- map and implement it using only NAND
gates.

2A. Perform the following functions.
i. Add 275 (10) and 859 (10) using ex-3 arithmetic.
ii. Convert 649.750 (10) to binary and hexadecimal codes.
iii. Subtract 674 (10) from 329 (10) using 1s complement method.
2B. Draw the circuit diagram of a common emitter amplifier with an emitter resistance.
Derive the expressions for current gain, voltage gain, input resistance and output
resistance for this using simplified h- parameter model.

3A. Derive the expressions for input and output resistance of a voltage series and current
shunt feedback amplifiers.
3B. Design a full subtractor using 3:8 decoder and additional gates.
4A. Design a 2 bit comparator and implement it using 4:1 multiplexers and
additional gates.

4B. Design a 3 bit shift register with a load input, using D flip flops that operates as follows.
Load = 0, shift right operation with external input given at D0.
Load = 1, shift left operation with external input given at D2.

5A. With the required circuit diagram and waveforms, explain the 555 timer used as
astable multivibrator. Derive the expression for the time period of the wave form.

5B. For the given applications of the OPAMP, draw the circuit diagram and derive the
expression for the output voltage .
i. Inverting and Non inverting amplifier.
ii. Summer in inverting configuration.

6A. Starting from the general form of an oscillator, derive the expression for the
frequency of oscillation for Hartley and Colpitts oscillator. Also draw the circuit
diagram of both types of oscillators.
6B. Design a mod 10 ripple counter using T flip flops. Also plot the timing diagram.
