This document contains 4 problems related to diode circuits: 1) Find currents and voltages in a diode circuit using Thevenin's theorem assuming ideal diodes and diodes with a 0.7V voltage drop. 2) Sketch the output waveform of a circuit with a 15V sinusoidal input and 50 ohm diode when conducting and open when not. 3) Plot the output voltage and diode current over time for a full-wave rectifier with a 160uF capacitor filter and calculate the ripple voltage, maximum diode current, and peak inverse voltage. 4) Calculate the output voltage for two circuits with diodes and a 3V zener diode, assuming a 0.7V cut-

Problem 1:

a) Assuming that the diodes in the circuit of Figure 1 areideal, utilize

thevenins theorem to simplify the circuits and thus fund the values of the
labeled currents and voltages.
b) Now,assume that conducting diodes can be represented by the
constant-voltage-drop model (VD = 0.7 V),utilize Thevenins theorem to
simplify the circuits of Figure 1 and thus find the values of labelled
currents and voltages.
