This appraisal and assessment is being conducted for:
Name: Ray Valois
Address: 1785 Dogwood Street, Quesnel, British Columbia, V2J 4T7
The purpose of this appraisal is to determine current fair market value. The vehicle appraiser does not
confirm the originality of the components and/or the parts of the car. Number matching claims, or
representation of originality or history made by the owner are not addressed as part of this inspection
and appraisal report. This report should be used to help establish an insurance value but does not
guarantee what the insurance company will payout in the case of a total loss.
Vehicle Year: 1966
Make: Mercury
Model: 100 Custom Cab Long Wheel Base Pickup 2 Wheel Drive
Serial #: FI0YG864233
Miles Shown: Only 3,671 miles, declared as original miles.
History: 1 previous owner, the Gumm family of Fraser Lake, the truck was only used at the farm. The
present owner has owned the pickup for 10 years.
Exterior/body: The truck was completely disassembled and sand blasted in a thorough body-off
restoration. The cab then was completely disassembled at the mating surfaces to remove any rust at
seams and joints. There was only minor body damage from farm use. The rust issues on the back of the
cab and the front cab mount support boxes were repaired with all new metal. The outside air vent boxes
were dismantled and rebuilt. The inner and outer front fenders were separated from each other, rebuilt
with new metal pieces and then put back together. The lower drivers door was repaired for rust issues.
The pickup box was also repaired with new metal to address rust issues on it. Reproduction tailgates are
not available for the Mercury pickups, so a new Ford tailgate was acquired and the Mercury center
section was removed from the original tailgate and installed into the new Ford tailgate. Side tool storage
compartment and door were acquired from Bob Drake and installed. Don Harris Autobody
professionally did the body work and paintwork. The truck is painted Rangoon Red and White in one
stage paint. The bodywork is very well done with great attention to detail. The body was collision free
with only rust issues from the elements. The fit and finish is excellent, the preparation before paint and
the high quality paintwork has resulted in show quality finish with high luster. The side and rear glass is
original and the front shaded windshield is new. New weather stripping, window channel runs and
whiskers have been installed. The front grill and headlamp bezels are new from Dennis Carpenter.
Kelowna Electroplating has replated body emblems and lettering. The original hubcaps have been
meticulously restored by rechroming and polishing. The chrome front and rear bumpers are new. The
door handles, radio antenna, mirrors, cab nameplates, taillight lenses are new. The complete body side
mouldings were acquired from Eagle Pass.
