Skills development: Writing formal emails

The question below is similar to the Aptis writing test part 4.

Read the instructions carefully and write your answer in the green box below.

Write between 120 and 150 words

Fully answer the question
Use a formal style
Spend about 20 minutes on this question
Once youve finished, check your spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Regarding the email that I received two days ago, I am writing to express my
extreme frustration with the fact that Mr Price will not attend our next meeting. I have been
looking forward to meeting the writer. I am sure that the other members share my feeling.
There must be some other alternatives that you can do. If I were you, I would
postpone the date and time of the meeting until the writer is available to attend. We can
have a video conference with the writer. It will save you a lot of money. Moreover, the price
of the book is too high. Please give us fifty percent discount and half of the price can be
paid by the club. I believe the members will support the club if you can organise the
meeting well.
I hope my suggestions will be taken into consideration. I am looking forward to
hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,
Sharidah Sharif
