Enabling WMS Flag at Organization Parameter

To enable WMS functionality at an organization, the organization parameter must be set to enable the WMS flag. All subinventories need to be locator controlled. Additional tabs for warehouse and warehouse management will be available in the organization parameters form. Rules for picking, putaway, and cost groups need to be defined to determine sources and strategies for transactions.

Enabling WMS Flag at Organization Parameter


If existing inventory organization is going to be enable WMS Flag,then need to follow the below process.
All the subinventories should be made locator controlled

If its a new organization,then we can simply enable the WMS flag at organization parameter,but the subinventory must be a lo

There are 3 different types of rules which Oracle WMS is currently using as of now in Oracle 11i.
1.Pick
2.Putaway
3.Cost Group
1.Pick
This rule will determine the picking source subinventory for any kind of picking whithin the organization.
Steps to create a rule for Picking.
1.Rule :Picking
Name : XXPICK
Add your own subinventory as a source for picking.
2.Strategy: Picking
Name : XXPICKSTRATEGY
Below strategy add your custom pick rule i.e XXPICK

3.Add the Strategy to the rules workbench of type Pick.

In Rules workbench,you can optionally add some criteria's like transaction type,source and destination subinventory for filterin
