Technology is a tool that opens up having an effective student, parent, and teacher
communication. Teachers are using technology to improve their teaching and increase student
learning. Having great communication is very important and finding ways to keep home and
school connected with each other. Parents and teachers working together as a team will help
students educational success. When parents and teachers communicate with each other they are
able to support student learning together more effectively Technology to Enhance
Communication
Email: I will use this tool effectively to contact students and parents. Reaching out through an
email is very effective because just about everyone owns a smartphone, computer, or some kind
of technological device. Individuals receive emails on a daily basis and can be sent or read 24/7
anytime anywhere. (Describe how you will use this tool to communicate with the various parties
listed. Support your rationale with research)

Skype: This is a great tool because you can have an actual conversation with the student and
parent and explain how a problem can be solved. Skype can also be used to engage students in

Communication Internet Security and Safety:

Prior to participating in any internet navigation, parents must sign a consent form that
allows students to use technology in the classroom. In the consent form, parents are informed of
the student expectation and the consequences of failing to comply with the rules. Once the
students have been cleared from home to participate in internet navigation the teacher must
model appropriate navigation of internet. The consequences of not following internet safety rules
can cost the district thousands of dollars and students need to be aware of that. Depending on the
grade level you are teaching you, can have online trainings, interactive trainings and have posters
around the classroom with the rules and appropriate ethical behavior. Students and parents must
agree to the terms and conditions of proper internet navigation in order to have access to that
resource. If any of the parties fails to comply with the written contract the use will be terminated.
Technology has opened new venues of communication. The improvements in
communication help parents, students and teachers to facilitate the process of learning and
closing the achievement gap. Appropriate ethical behavior with the use of technology is required
from all parties. There should not be any vulgar language when communicating and resources
should only be used to increase student learning. Great learning experiences today, include video
streaming, interactive lessons and advancing in classroom assignments from home computer of

tablet. Technology is a tool that must be used to involve all parties in the success of our students.
Student learning is a shared responsibility.
