Classroom Rules- Health Class Grades 9-12

Rule #1- Students will come to class prepared with all necessary materials.
Rationale:
o To ensure the students are prepared and ready to learn.
Procedures:
o Students will enter the classroom quietly.
o Students should be in his or her assigned seat when the bell rings.
o Have all materials out on the desk and be ready to learn.
Rule #2- Students will raise his or her hand to ask or answer a question.
Rationale:
o Give all students the chance to ask or answer a question.
Procedures:
o Students will raise his or her hand.
o The teacher will call on individual students.
Rule #3- Keep all personal electronics put away.
Rationale:
o To limit distractions in class and ensure all students are engaged in the
lesson.
Procedures:
o Students will place all electronic devices in his or her bag.
o Electronics should not be used during class time.
Rule #4- Be respectful to everyone.
Rationale:
o Everyone in class should treat others how they want to be treated.
Procedures
o Students will not speak while others are speaking.
o Students will listen closely to other classmates.
o Be respectful of all class opinions.
Rule #5- Students will not put away his or her materials until class is over.
Rationale:
o To limit any distractions and respect other students who are working.
Students should utilize the entire class period for learning.
Procedures:
o Everyone should be in his or her assigned seat.
o Bags should not be packed until the teacher gives permission to put
materials away.
o Materials should be put away quietly.
o Students need to make sure the area around them is clean.

o Students will be dismissed when the bell rings.
