This document assigns students to find the performance parameters of a three phase full wave rectifier connected to a 400V, 3-phase, 50Hz mains supply for two load conditions: a) 10Ω load and b) 0.5mH, 10Ω load. Students are to calculate VDC, VRMS, VAC, form factor, ripple factor, output DC current, peak-to-peak ripple, lowest order harmonic of output voltage, RMS value of input current, input power factor, and percentage ripple with reference to VDC. Students can use Matlab simulation or direct calculations and must submit their work by February 12, 2015.
