How can I use Google Doc in my classroom/workplace:

Google Doc can be used in my classroom in the following ways:

To work collaboratively with students on their writing process with privileged access,

shared with specific prescribed personnel.


To track students progress in real time and providing direct feedback.
For data collection, sharing data, and analyzing data
To provide ongoing and real-time feedback to students.
2. What are the benefits of using Google Docs:
It provides easy access to many files for students at the same time. It is fully interactive and
collaborative in assessing and assisting those students who are introverted, and may not want to
share with the whole class as well as tracking individual performance even if its a group project
by checking the document history allowing for smart productive constructivist classroom
learning experience.

3. What are the advantages of Google Docs:


It allows for sharing of documents which increases students accountability for meeting

deadlines that is transferable to the world of work.


Its sharing function changes the nature of communication between teacher and student
and student and student. For example, each student can write a draft of an essay in
Google Doc that can be shared with the teacher who can provide real-time feedback to

student, these feedback can be voice activated and Google Docs interacts with apps.
Efficiencies achieved by working across a paperless environment, saving the

environment.
Documents can be shared, opened in multiple locations on individual end devices, and
edited by multiple users at the same time thereby increasing student productivity.

Google Docs Technology provides immediate feedback and is engaging students in an

effective learning strategy.


Files can be stored in folders
Teachers and students can exhibit and learn time management skills.
Storage of files can be easily retrieved.

4. What are the disadvantages of Google Docs:


a. Technology not easily embraced by older teachers who are resistant to change.
b. One must be connected to the Internet to have access to Google Docs.
