Report of Chemistry Experiment

This document reports on a chemistry experiment studying the influence of concentration and type of dissolved substance on freezing point. Sodium chloride (NaCl) solutions at 0.1 M and 1 M concentrations and glucose solutions at 0.1 M and 1 M concentrations were prepared and their freezing points measured and recorded in a table. The freezing points of the solutions were lower than that of water, with more concentrated solutions having lower freezing points. The conclusions drawn were that adding solutes lowers the vapor pressure and freezing point of the solution, with greater concentrations and electrolyte solutions having greater decreases in freezing point.

Question :
1. How is the freezing point solution beside the freezing point solvent?
2. How is the relation between decreasing freezing point solution with
concentration?
Answer :
1. Freezing point of solution is lower than the freezing point solvents.
2. The greater the concentration, the lower the freezing point of solution
Conclusion:
The addition of solutes caused a decrease in vapor pressure. This
causes the freezing point of solution is much lower when compared to
the freezing point of pure solvent.
The more concentrated a solution, then also the lower the freezing
point of the solution.
electrolyte solution has a number of particles greater than non
electrolyte solution. Since the number of particles is more, an
electrolyte solution has a lower freezing point than non electrolyte
solution.
Addition of salt to the ice, so ice does not melt quickly, because the
addition of salt lowers the freezing point.
