SAP Business Objects Post Installation Task List

After debugging SAP Business Objects XI R4 installs at various client sites we have identified the
following tasks which should be carried out post installation:
1. Make sure the firewall is either turned off at domain level or appropriate exceptions are set in place
2. Turn off Java auto updates
3. Patch the SAP Business Intelligence server with the latest compatible patch available
4. Exclude the SAP Business Intelligence root directory from the antivirus scanning software
5. Set SIA and tomcat to run as service account
6. Split Adaptive Processing Server and Adaptive Job Server as identified in server sizing
7. Add any additional licence keys. (During install only one key can be setup)
8. Turn off any services that will not be used
9. Restart the SAP Business Intelligence server to make sure all services come back up as expected
10. Test run demo webi reports to make sure FRS, connection server, WebI processing server etc are
working
11. Turn off IE Security for Administrator group on the BO server (this helps in navigation through CMC
via IE on the server)
