SAS Case-Control Study Codebook

This document provides a codebook for a case-control study examining the relationship between low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels and cardiac events. The study uses data from a population-based cohort study of Caucasian men and women, focusing on a subset of cases where individuals experienced a cardiac event and controls where they did not. The codebook defines the variables that will be analyzed, including age, glucose levels, cholesterol levels, height, gender, smoking status, and weight.

CASE-CONTROL STUDY
CODEBOOK
For this series of assignments you will be examining data from a study of
Caucasian men and women. This study was a population-based cohort study
tracking the relationship between a variety of risk factors and the incidence of
cardiovascular events and mortality, but we have decided to examine a subset of
the data as a case-control study. You will be examining the relationship between
LDL cholesterol at baseline and the incidence of cardiac events.
