Vision can provide motivation, sense of
direction, basis for alignment of
efforts and processes. Vision provides
the picture that everyone involved
carries and recalls periodically to
ensure non-deviated course. The
vision needs to be supported also by
a respective strategy – ways to
achieve the vision.
Why Vision is Essential
Vision refers to a picture of the future with
some implicit or explicit commentary on
why people should strive to create the
future. In change process, a good vision
serves three important purposes which are:
 By clarifying the general direction for
change
 It motivates people to take action in the
right direction
 It helps coordinate the actions of different
people in a remarkably fast and efficient
way

 Flexible: Is general enough to allow individual
initiative and alternative responses in light of
changing conditions
 Communicable: is easy to communicate; can be
successfully explained within fir minutes
