Home Owners Association
You are the president of your home owners association. At the last board
meeting, several members complained that they were having trouble with
common household pests and they asked for advice on dealing with them.
You decide to put together a document listing several types of pests and
methods for managing them.
1. Start Word and open a new blank document.
2. Save the document as Pests.
3. Insert a cover page. Choose cover page that has document controls for
the title and the author name. Replace the author name with your own
name, if necessary. Insert the title Home Pest Control.
4. Cut any document controls on the cover page that did not pick up text
from the document properties. (Hint: Right-click the control, and then
click Cut on the shortcut menu.)
5. Go to the second page in the document. Enter the heading Pesticide
Remedies. Format it with the Heading 1 Quick Style.
6. Create a footer with the page number automatically inserted and the
text Pesticides. Do not show the footer on the title page.
7. Create another section that starts on a new page. In the new section,
enter the heading Natural Remedies. Format it with the Heading 1
Quick Style.
8. Create a footer for this section with an automatic page number and the
text Non-Pesticide.
9. Save your work.

Use your favorite search provider and the keywords home pest
control to conduct a search on the Internet. Use the links you find to
explore both natural and pesticide methods of controlling pests in the
home.

Choose at least three types of common home pests and identify
one or two sites from which to collect information. Create a table in the
second section (Pesticide Remedies) comparable to the one below and
fill in information from your research for at least three types of pests.

Save the changes to your document, and preview it. Submit the
document in electronic or printed form as specified by your instructor.
