1. In your own words define what a software engineer is.


Software developers are the creative minds behind computer programs.
Some develop the applications that allow people to do specific tasks on a
computer or other device. Others develop the underlying systems that run
the devices or control networks.
2. What are the specializations within this field of S.T.E.M. and what do they
involve?
The specializations of stem are technology and engineering for a software
engineer. Technology is involved for a software engineer because they are
working with the newest technology and creating next gen technology.
Engineering is also involved because they are supposed to develop and
engineer new software and fix possible mistakes.
3. Provide a minimum of ten (10) everyday items/things that these types of
professionals work on and explain how they are involved with these
items/things?
Coding Use codes to create software and the function of the software.
Creating new software Use their coding skills to develop their own
software from scratch.
Fixing software Fix code problems that have occurred in the software and
patch it.
Software Interior Design Focus on the function of the software and its
function.
Software Exterior Design Focus on the look of the software and how it
looks to the customer.
Computer Software Creates software specifically for computers and
releases updates to improve software.
Mobile Software Creates software specifically for mobile devices and
releases updates to improve software.
Server Software Creates software specifically for servers and releases
updates to improve software.
Software Architecture Focuses on the overall structure of software and
building it.

Console Software Creates software specifically for consoles and releases


updates to improve software.
4. How does the profession/job help improve our everyday lives?
This job helps us with problems that we may encounter with our new
devices and prevents software issues and release updates to make the
software up to date and as fast and better as possible.
5. What does a day for a person in this profession/job look like?
A day for a person in the software engineer consists of tons of coding as that
is what is used to create and fix software.
