Target Audience
What is a target audience?
A target audience is a selected particular group of people which tends to be people in which a certain service, product or film is aimed at. Our targeted audience? Our short film is targeted at audiences aged 12 to 30 since by doing research and looking at similar films which influences our film all tend to be aimed at audiences aged 12 to 25. However the reason on which we had chosen 12 to 30 is because audiences who are aged above 18 could be experiencing a similar issue or know somebody who is going through a situation such as our protagonist. By aiming audiences who are still in their teens it allows us to easily sympathize the protagonists pain from what he is experiencing. Also by aiming our short film to adults it enables them to understand the storyline in a clear manner in which some could relate to. We did not pick a lower targeted audience than 12 simply because we had thought not all audiences could understand or be able to watch the pain the protagonist is suffering as they may not be fully mature yet. Gender As a group we had concluded that our short film production will be aimed at both genders, male and female. This is due to the fact that any gender could experience a similar lifestyle to the protagonist in the film. With looking at different films based around disability it is seen that females tend to be attracted more than males as stereotypically they are easier to get attracted to film which creates sympathy. Despite this we had still chosen to aim our production to both males and females as they both genders can relate rather than just one which increases the chances of being a success as well. Ethnicity Our production will not be aimed at a particular race, this is mainly because we are welcoming audiences from all races to watch drama depressed films which creates a sadness atmosphere within the audience. Although, there is a high chance that audiences who live in England are going to watch the short film as our production has been filmed in the city of London

therefore the our production is likely to be seen by the
population of Britain. Socio Economic Group The socio economic group which we had decided to aim our production to is at audiences who fall under the categorys B, C1, C2, D and E. this is mainly because anybody could relate to our storyline no matter the socio economic group however mainly audience who come under E are most likely still in education therefore would have some time in their hands for entertainment.
