During lessons, the teacher asks students questions to solve and shows them the right answers. She tries to balance the time she talks with time students respond, spending 3 minutes talking and 2 minutes for students. The questions are meant to stimulate students' thinking and most students can answer correctly, showing they are learning the new topics. However, students do not have much chance to talk to each other, only raising their hands to ask questions.

Analyzing Classroom Discourse
During the core of the lesson my teacher just
give students the questions and asks them to solve it. She says things such as; Who can solve this one? How did you find the answer? Show me the right answer, well done ..etc. My teacher tries to equal between the amount of time that she spend on talking and the time that students respond to her (3 mins for the teacher and 2 mins for the students). The types of questions that my teacher uses are for stimulating students thinking such as; find the sum of this equation, how many tens do we have to add? I can see that students are learning a new topic because they are able to answer the questions by themselves. Because when the teacher put a question on the board most of the students solve it correctly. The children dont have an enough chance to talk with others. They only raise their hands for asking some questions.
