The document discusses the use of manipulatives in teaching mathematics. It notes that manipulatives can be bought, brought from home, or made by teachers or students. Using manipulatives engages students and helps them understand mathematical concepts more rapidly. For example, second graders learning subtraction can use base-ten blocks to understand place value and subtract numbers correctly, rather than relying on their fingers which can lead to mistakes. Manipulatives help students remember and explain what they learn in mathematics. While students understand concepts well when using manipulatives, they may make mistakes when solving problems without them, so teachers should focus on using manipulatives with detailed descriptions.

fun and interesting. I that teacher use manipulative to teach math and that is very exciting and engagement for students to learn mathematics. Manipulatives source are several such as, bought from market, brought from home and made by teacher or students. It is also appropriate to teach mathematics for all levels especially for children (KG-6). Generally, using manipulative through teaching mathematics to the students is very important. Because it is assist the students to understand the idea rapidly. For example, the students in grade 2 learn about how to solve subtraction questions. Most of students start to solve these type of questions by using their fingers and that strategy may get them a mistake (during counting the numbers). But the teacher can teach them the subtraction 3 digit at the first by using base-tens blocks which help them to understand more, thinking, avoid to get mistakes and able to solve a mental math questions problemsolving. This kind of manipulative help the students to have deep understanding of the place value and subtract the number correctly. Factually, manipulative help students to remember and explain what they learn on mathematics (Stein 2001). In contrast, most of students when they start learning mathematics by using manipulative, they will understand at the first. But when they will solve the math questions in their book without using manipulative, may have a mistake. So, the teacher may focus to teach the students by using manipulative with giving more details and description.
