Hypertension during pregnancy complicates 2-3% of pregnancies and is a major cause of morbidity, mortality, and pain for both mother and fetus. This study implemented midwifery care using the Verney 7-step management approach for two expectant mothers with hypertension in their third trimester. After 15 days of care, both mothers' blood pressures decreased and they understood the counseling provided by midwives, allowing them to avoid complications from their hypertension.

Abstract

Background Hypertension is one of common medical problem during pregnancy and complicating
for 2-3% pregnancy. Hypertension in pregnancy cause of morbidity or pain for mom and fetus.
Furthermore the hypertension in pregnancy are most major cause the death. Hypertension in
pregnancy have varies in each region, internationally hypertension cause of primigravida 7-12%

and increase for multiple pregnancy, hidroamnion, diabetes militus and mola hibdatidosa,
while for multigravida is 5 8%.
Purpose - Implementations of midwifery care for expectant mother in third trimester with
hypertension in pregnancy by using midwifery management approach and verney step.
Methodology The method that used is case study, locations of case study in Selong healty center
(puskesmas), case study subject is expectant Mis S and Mis R with hypertension in pregnancy, the
case study was held on april 27 2015 to june 13 2015 , the collections data technique use a primer
data which include physic examination, interview and obsevations, while skunder data which include
literature and documentation study.
Results After 15 days care showed good results KU, blood pressure Mis S 130/100 mmHg and Mis
R 150/90 mmHg. The mother have understand about counseling that midwifery gave.
Conclusion the author is able to care provide to expectant mother with hypertension by 7 step
verney management, so expectant mother compilcations with hypertension does not accour.
