Selection of the tooth-brushing method depends
on the clients needs, dexterity and preferences.
- Evaluate:
- the oral hygiene status
- the level of oral health or disease
- the current tooth brushing technique

Indications
Sulcular cleansing
-Periodontal health
-Periodontal disease
-Periodontal maintenance
Clean entire Facial and lingual surfaces
Brushing Technique
Start at the most distal tooth in the arch
place the bristles up toward the root at a 45 o
angle to the teeth.
Place the brush with the bristle tips directed
into the gingival sulcus.

Vibratory stroke brush back and forth

Summary
Tooth-brushing methods recommendation
depends on various factors. However, in all
methods, clients need to brush completely to
remove all dental biofilm to prevent oral
disease and brush carefully to avoid oral
injury.
