Exiting The Classroom Procedure
Exiting The Classroom Procedure
Explain: State the Procedure: Today we will be learning how to properly exit the classroom.
Generate rationale:
Exiting the classroom properly will cut down on safety hazards and injuries.
Explain and model Procedure:
1. I will ring a bell, alerting students that its 5 minutes left before the end of the
day.
2. Students are to clean up their areas and put supplies in their backpacks.
3. Once finished sit in your seat with hands on your head, letting me know
youre all done.
4. Once I see that all students have hands on their heads, I will let students line
up by tables. Tables will be chosen by teacher.
5. Voices should be on 0
Check for Understanding:
Rehearse:
1. One student will do the procedure, while the others observe. If a student misses or forget
a step, they will raise their hand and say the correct step.
2. Students will line up outside as if school has just started and practice the procedure stepby-step as a class.
Reinforce: Reteach, Practice and Reinforce
On a daily basis, I will give praises for following the procedure correctly. I will let
students know if the procedure is not followed correctly and reteach until it is down
packed.
Students will practice this routine every day for 6 weeks, more if needed. I will apply
questions to each time we practice to reassure myself and the students that we are getting
it down packed.
