SAS Enterprise Miner Tutorial

SAS Enterprise Miner allows users to import Excel data into a SAS dataset for analysis. The import process involves selecting Excel as the data source, browsing to select the workbook file, choosing the relevant worksheet table, specifying a SAS library and dataset name, and finishing the import. This creates a new SAS dataset containing the Excel data that is then ready to be used in SAS Enterprise Miner.

Importing Data into a SAS Dataset

Start the SAS program.
From the File menu, choose Import Data. The default option in the first screen that you
see in the Import Data wizard sets Excel as the source type, which is what you want.
Click on Next.
In the next dialog box, choose Browse, and find the Excel workbook file that you want
to import. Select that file.
In the next dialog screen, you are asked to choose a table. If the spreadsheet file has a
single worksheet, this is selected by default. If not, scroll through the drop-down list and
select the relevant sheet.
The next dialog screen asks you to select which library you want to add the dataset to. In
