Topic: WHAT DO YOU DO ON SUNDAY?

Distinguishing in speech words and simple, short sentences containing sounds, patterns of intonation

Understanding the meaning of words in simple sentences.
Reproducing certain intonation patterns and other phenomena specific to the English language.
Defining connections between sentences and pictures which go with them
Establishing connections between pronunciation and written images of letters, groups of letters and
familiar words, and writing them.

Literature used: the book Magic English for the 2nd form
Stages

Activity

Ask pupils to come to the board and fill in the missing letters and
translate the words (action words- wake up, read)
Ask pupils what they had to prepare for the lesson. Have 3-5
pupils to answer orally, the others will hand in their copybooks.
Discuss the pupils questions if any.
Draw pupils attention to the board; have them come and arrange
the days of the week in the correct order. Ask pupils what they do
on different days of the week: What do you do on Monday? Have
them use action verbs.
Information Announcing the objectives of the lesson.
Explaining the formation of questions with the help of the
question word what. Have them written an example of a
sentence in all the forms (positive, negative, interrogative)
Review the 3rd pers. Sg for Present Simple and the action verbs
Practice
presented at ex. 1 p. 66.
Ask questions on the activity children in the picture perform:
Does Tim run? Elicit short answers: Yes he does.
Have pupils make up sentences on what children do: Tom runs.
Invite
pupils to the board to complete the questions with the
