Structural Catalogues & Specifications


Structural profiles, fittings and joints are all catalogue in AVEVA PDMS. This training guide explains
how to create the catalogue components and specifications, so that they may be accessed in Design,
for each component type.

Aim
The aim of this training guide is to provide knowledge and skills that will enable designers to create,
modify, and manage structural catalogues and specifications.

Objectives

Introduce the General Principles of Structural Cats & Specs.

Create Structural Profiles and specifications for them.

Create Section fittings and specifications for them.

Create Panel fittings and specifications for them.

Create Joints and specifications for them.

Create Fittings for Hole Management.

Prerequisites
Trainees must have completed the PDMS Structural Modelling Basic and Advanced training courses
and have experience in designing structures using PDMS.

Course Structure
Training will consist of oral and visual presentations, demonstrations and set exercises. Each
workstation will have a training project, populated with model objects. This will be used by the
trainees to practice their methods, and complete the set exercises.
