THE ARTS OFFICE
HON. REMEDIOS MATIN L. PETILLA
Municipal Mayor
Palo, Leyte
Dear Hon. Petilla,
Greetings!
We are delighted to inform you that this office is currently conducting voice,
violin and band training to selected Elementary and High School Students of Palo.
This is consistent with the municipalitys goal of becoming the cultural hub of the
Province of Leyte. At present there are 14 violin trainees, a 31 piece Brass Band and
a 23 piece Singing Angels choir. We are now on the process of expanding
membership for the Violin Ensemble and Singing Angels Choir. Trainings are
conducted regularly with the following schedules: Violin Training- Monday,
Wednesday and Friday 5pm-6pm; Choir Practice- Saturday 1-4 pm; and Brass Band
Training- Daily. The Second Floor Lobby of the Municipal Building serves as venue for
the said trainings. If there are pre-scheduled functions or events using the said
venue, we are constrained to look for other venues which will be available and
suitable for the training. We utilized the first floor lobby and the unfinished
Legislative building as alternate venues. The problem with the latter is that there is
no electricity yet, so if the activity is for one hour beginning at 5 pm; the lesson is
cut short if the place is already enveloped by darkness.
In this regard, we would like to request from your good office that temporary
lighting fixtures be installed to the unfinished Legislative Building for the purpose of
the trainings being conducted by this office.
We are hoping for a favorable action on the matter.
Thank you and more power.
Sincerely yours,
CARLOS A. ROMANO
Tourism, Culture and the Arts Officer
