Criterion D. Evaluating
Part I. Product Testing
A. Self-testing
1. Describe in a detailed paragraph how you tested your project before presenting the final version to your target
users/audience. Discuss how you checked and improved the technical/functional problems that you encountered.
(Minimum 70 words)
To test my product i borrowed Mister Damasos iPad to make sure that the QR codes led you to the correct sites and
that the Augmented Reality would work well. Since I used a different website that allowed you to create colorful QR
codes, a five second advertisement would appear and the first website i used didnt work. I changed it to a link for a
PDF about the learner profile, which worked for a few days but then ceased to open in the browser. The Aurasma image
worked very well except the video quality was not very good and it was pretty short. To solve this i had gotten a Sony
HANDYCAM from the library to film my video (Inquiring Example), but the video was corrupted and didnt copy onto the
computer well and i could not upload it to the ipad, so instead i just filmed everything on the iPad and it turned out
alright. I did have to delete the previous trigger image and that was a bit confusing, but otherwise, everything went really
well.
Evaluate your own project using the rubric below.

Self-Score
7-8: Fully
The purpose is to educate people on the learner profile and a specific trait,
Inquiring. I think that i communicated this very clearly with a bold title and extra
information on the subject in the form of a QR code.
I used a QR code to attach a link to a website that would explain all the different
traits of the learner profile so that they could understand in more detail. The
Aurasma provided a visual aid (a short skit) on an example of inquiry.
For my QR code i used a different website to make the code more colorful and
less dull and uniform. There was an image overlapping the code and the whole
thing looked much more colorful and inviting.
I used lots of colors and I used drawings and handwriting as well as printed
material (pug pictures ^_^)
Yes the prototype works and all of the QRs and Aurasmas are functioning
properly.
My audience is IB students that need to know more about the IB learner profile,
so i made it for all ages and made appealing to minors and teens.
I didnt do an official test, but i did check to see if everything worked and it did so i
counted that as an Alpha test.

3. Compare the results of your evaluation survey to your self-evaluation. Complete the table below.
According to your self-evaluation
People said that it was very nice, it did could have had
a few more QR codes and it could have been a bit less
cramped, but otherwise it was satisfactory and well
made.
d. 3 Suggestions for
Improvement
I did not need a second one because the first one provided sufficient
information to the topic.
I did not think i needed it for the survey and so i did not add it, but it turns
out i would need to.
To make it a bit more cheery as there were a lot of blank white spaces.
2. Generally, how well do you think your final project successfully achieved its original goal or purpose. Discuss 3
reasons.
I think that my poster was initially a very good one because it provided sufficient information on the topic and if you wanted to go into more detail,
there were QR codes and Aurasmas that added on more information if need be. Even though there were a few unnecessary factors to the poster, i
found that the colored images made the poster more lively and inviting. The overall effect of the Aurasma and the colored QR code made everything
much more neat and nice, as opposed to a dull black and white QR code. The Aurasma was simply an image that triggered and image, but i felt that
this was sufficient in the practice of its goal.
It will teach them more on being an Inquirer and the learner profile in
general. It will do this in a entertaining and artistic way. They will also
learn a bit on how to use QR codes and Augmented Reality apps as
there is a short description on the poster directing them on how to apply
The poster had a few unnecessary factors like irrelevant images. It was
also a bit crowded and made it hard for people to focus on the actual
purpose of the product. Also the hand drawn stuff did not appear
professional and made the poster seem a bit off.
the skills. The poster will also intrigue people in further improving their
knowledge on QR codes
